The chairman of BIRD, Mr. Xu Lihua won the award of “The Top Ten Persons of Chinese Brand Founder” in the second “Chinese Brand Conference of 2005”, which co-organized by China Industrial Cooperative Association, China News Cultural Promoting Association, China Brand Management Academy and The Chinese Brand Managing Trainer Association.

According to the information of the Ministry of Information Industry, Bird has accumulated to sell 13.93 million mobile phones till the year of 2005 with the first place of six consecutive years among domestic brands and to sell 50 million mobile phones in worldwide to become the first Chinese brand to break the 50 million records.

The Beijing Xinhua Bird Communications Technology Co. Ltd was funded by Fenghua Bird Technology Development Co. Ltd and Xinhua News Agency.

Fenghua Bird Co. Ltd. merged with the Ningbo Electronic Information Group-the capacitor factory and the solar power plant. Ningbo Electronic Information Group held 45% of the stock shares.
The Fenghua Bird Academy of Communications Technologies was changed to Fenghua Bird Technology Development Co. Ltd to become the second biggest shareholder with its shares dropping from 80% to 44%. Ms. Yu Hongyi was appointed to be the Chairman and Mr. Xu Lihua to be the General Manager.

A joint venture Ji-Tong Bird Co. Ltd. was founded for introduce capital and establish the electronic products quality assurance system. During this stage, the founders of Bird established Fenghua Bird Telecommunication R&D and holds 14.7% of the stock.

Fenghua Bird Company has dramatic expanded to invest a new company Fenghua Bird Company Limited due to the determination of the factory relocating to Shenzhen or staying in Fenghua resulting it caused the separation of the foreign investor and the local government.

On the May 1, the first Bird “pager” product was born and manufactured by the first production line successfully.

The four founders of Xu Lihua, Pu Jie, Xu Xiguang and Sui Bo cooperated with the organization of the Fenghua Big Bridge Town to establish Fenghua Bird Company. Four of them hold total 40% technical shares.
